my nigga (yea i said it)

No surprise that NAS is one of my favorite emcees.  I've never been dissapointed by anything he's done (no i dont count QB's finest because that was a collaboration).  I liked nastradamus and will point out at least 6 tracks on there that can be put in the cannon of great hip hop song...but all that asside.  The controversy about his new album originally called NIGGER has been crazy.  He retitled it N and its still gonna be dope.  In the words of WALE "i hope yall can understand the undertonage in the message" that Nas is sending.

That being said the video for his first single is out and... i love it.

It takes a scene out of one of my favorite movies; 25th hour (starring my all time favorite actor Edward Norton).  The scene's pretty powerful within it self

I'm sure they they thought of combining the likeness of Barak Obama and Abraham Lincoln it seemed like a good idea for a tee shirt.  Alas, anybody who knows the legacy of old "honest abe" would see how this is problematic this is.  Maybe I'm thinking too much about this, maybe they purpose is some irony.  But, if the purpose is to liken one to the other... its like combining Bill O'Reilly and Lupe Fiasco. If you don't get it...do the knowledge, starting here

RIP

Yves Saint Laurent stands outside his ready-to-wear boutique on Bond Street in London in 1969.

Today the fashion world lost one of its finest.  Designer Yves Saint Laurent passed away today at age 71 at his home in Paris.  If you don't know, this man revolutionized women's pants proving that they could be sexy.  For 50 years this man was one of the best designers in the world and anyone who claims to be familiar with fashion should have at least one YSL piece in their closet...

His presence in the fashion industry will certainly be missed

simple as algebrea

If you haven't heard her by now, you've been missing out long enough.  R&B artist Algebra Blessett is major.  I first heard mention of her on an interlude to musiq's soulstar album and when i heard the name again i made the connection.  first song i heard was nothing to proove back in 2006 and id been waiting since then for the album...it dropped in April and I haven't taken it out of the car or out of frequent rotation on my ipod since.

Her new single run and hide has a video out and i think it's pretty good

I think maybe im diggin this song so much because it seems like the soundtrack for my life right now...just to let yall in
